Sponsor Me!

In these mad times we find ourselves in people with mental health problems have never been more in need of help, and with the NHS’ services at breaking point it’s charities like Dare 2 Express that try to fill in the gaps and give people the support they need. That’s why I’m trying to raise money for Dare 2 Express, and you can sponsor me using my Just Giving page.

Week 13

Day 61

Day 61 and day 31 – the final day – of my January challenge! Hoo-bloody-rah for that! Why do I do these things to myself? Once day I’ll come up with a mad idea and just say “no” to it…well…maybe.

So the final 16 miles for the month then?

The day’s miles started by heading to Dalston and Buckabank before going offroad, taking the paths out to Raughton Head.

From there quiet lanes took me through Thethwaite, finally zig-zagging my way across the countryside down and past Hutton Roof.

Rose Castle in Dalston was the home of the Bishop of Carlisle for many centuries until 2009. The Architects Anthony Salvin and Thomas Rickman were responsible for the alterations which took place in the 19th Century.

What a great route this was today. The lanes and northern English lanes looked pretty damn nice, and I wish I’d actually been there instead of on my treadmill.

So the month’s challenge is now done, running every single day for the last 31 days, increasing the daily miles by 1/2 a mile each day. I did it and I’m damn proud of myself for doing it, especially finishing the final day with two 8 miles runs instead of breaking it down into smaller chunks throughout the day.

Time for a couple of days of rest and then I’ll back to it, working my way towards the final goal of reaching Land’s End and finishing my JOGLE run.
